Organic matter and oxygen

Root Riot germination cubes, measuring 3 x 3 x 5 cm, are made from composted organic material. These cubes are suitable for all types of seedlings and transplants.

Root Riot cubes are moist and spongy when packaged, and they should always remain that way. If they feel dry to the touch, simply rehydrate them by placing them in a bowl of lukewarm water and then letting them drain.

It is recommended that the cubes be at room temperature before inserting a seed or cutting into them.

Thanks to their porous structure, oxygenation will be maximized and rooting will be rapid.

Seeds and cuttings

Once you’ve selected your cutting, dip the tip into your rooting gel or hormone, then gently insert the stem into the hole in the Root Riot cube without applying too much pressure. Then place your cube in your propagation greenhouse (preferably a heated one), ensuring adequate humidity and airflow.

To start seeds, simply place them in the pre-drilled Root Riot. Make sure they are moist but not soggy, then place them in your seedling tray.

Root growth

Keep an eye out for roots. Once they are clearly visible, the young plant is ready to be transplanted into your outdoor garden or indoor greenhouse in any type of growing medium (potting soil, coconut coir, etc.).

Once planted, the Root Riot should sit just below the surface of your growing medium.
