You may find inexpensive dehumidifiers on the market, but most of them use semiconductor technology. These models cool the air using a thermoelectric effect, but they are much less efficient, especially in cold weather. Our dehumidifier uses a high-quality compressor, which is more expensive but offers significantly better performance.

Semiconductor dehumidifiers simply don’t measure up, especially in winter, because they struggle to operate effectively at low temperatures. In contrast, compressor dehumidifiers are widely used in commercial settings for their efficiency. Our model removes moisture up to 39 times faster than semiconductor models. The result: faster drying, reduced energy consumption, and savings on your electricity bills.
♦ How does it work?
Our dehumidifier draws in humid air, removes moisture, and releases dry air back into your tent or space. The collected water can be stored in the built-in reservoir or drained continuously using the included hose. According to our tests, the temperature inside the tent may increase by 1 to 2 °C (about 2 to 4 °F)—a minor trade-off for such effective moisture removal.

Compressor-based dehumidifiers are much more efficient than semiconductor-based dehumidifiers, with a dehumidification capacity 39 times larger. You may have already purchased a semiconductor dehumidifier only to find it almost ineffective. That’s why we recommend compressor dehumidifiers: they quickly process large volumes of air, provide better dehumidification, and are highly efficient.
♦ What size dehumidifier do I need for my grow room?
It depends on how much water you use. Let’s say you’re growing 6 plants in a 4×4 grow tent, watering them every 2 days with 1 gallon (8 pints) per plant each time. You can calculate the size of the dehumidifier as follows:
- Step 1: Calculate the total amount of water used each time
6 plants * 1 gallon per plant = 6 gallons - Step 2: Convert gallons to pints
6 gallons * 8 pins per gallon = 48 pins - Step 3: Calculate the average daily dehumidification
48 pints/2 days = 24 pints/day - Step 4: Take into account areas with low temperatures and low humidity (reduce by 15–30%)
Minimum requirement: 24 pints per day
Adjusted requirement: 24 pints * 0.85 (estimated reduction of 15 % for low temperature and low humidity)
Calculation of adjusted requirements: 24 * 0.85 = 20.4 pints/day - Step 5: Take into account areas with high temperatures and high humidity (increase by 15–30%)

Adjusted requirement: 24 pints * 1.15 (estimate of a 15% increase for high temperature and high humidity)

♦ What should the humidity level be in a grow room?
Although the key to successful growth is VPD (vapor pressure deficit), seedlings and cuttings generally require high humidity levels of 70–75%. As the plants grow, gradually reduce the humidity to 50–70% RH. During flowering, reduce the humidity further to 40–50% RH and maintain this range until harvest.
All indoor growing systems benefit from a dehumidifier, but it is especially important for hydroponic systems. Proper ventilation also helps control humidity, so be sure to install fans or blowers.

- Full water alert: When the water tank is full, the dehumidifier automatically stops and displays a red “Water Full” icon both in the app and on the unit. This prevents further operation until the tank is emptied, ensuring that humidity levels do not rise. Once the tank is emptied, the dehumidifier will automatically resume operation without any manual intervention.
- Drying function: The ideal humidity range for drying is 45–55% RH. While standard dehumidifiers speed up the drying process, they often result in a loss of flavor, potency, and overall enjoyment. Our dehumidifier allows you to set it to Low Speed, providing a slow, low-temperature drying process that preserves the quality of your flowers during the drying phase.
♦ Other factors to consider
If your room is sealed and equipped with an air conditioner, the air conditioner will remove some of the moisture. Check how many pints of moisture your air conditioner removes each day and subtract that amount from your daily dehumidification needs.
Expert Tips
Since the GGS power strip is already connected to the GGS temperature and humidity sensor, please disconnect the built-in sensor from your dehumidifier when connecting it to the power strip. This ensures that all environmental devices connected to the power strip work together to achieve a unified environmental goal.
